Staying in Sync With your Equipment
It is the off season for many hunters but it is also very important to keep practicing with your weapon of choice. You owe this to the animal. If you dont stay in harmony with your weapon, you will not a good shot. Archery hunters should practice almost every day or atleast once a week. Always check your bow for any repair or maintance that needs to be done to it. Also check your arrows. With the Carbon arrows on the market now you NEED to check your arrows. These arrrows can shatter and lodge fragments of carbon in your arm. As you can see it is important to check and practice with your equipment.
Spring Turkey
It is spring turkey season again many hunters will be taking to the woods in search for a Big Tom. The most common way to hunt turkeys is by scouting the night before and then setting up early the next morning with a decoy. Many people also hunt with a partner because it is easier. One person calls the turkey and the other has the gun. The most common gun for turkey is a 12gu. shothun with a 3in magnum turkey load.
Tree Stand Safety
It is important for every single hunter that goes out to the woods to come back. It is very important to wear a safety harness when you are in a tree stand. By law now every tree stand that is sold has to come with a harness. Why would you not want to wear a device that will save your life? Even though new tree stands are safer than ever before you still could fall out and hurt yourself. Tree stands are a good way and the most common way for Archery hunters to hunt their game.
